Mutra

Mutra in North Miami Beach is the first Kosher restaurant to receive a Michelin Star in the world. It is led by Chef Raz Shabtai and is a welcome addition to the Miami scene. Opened less than a year ago, it is the embodiment of his embracement of his culture as well as his adoration of his family.

The menu consists of three sections where the middle "mutra hits" section remains the same but the other two will rotate based on the season (every few months). The "hits" are those that are crowd pleasers and favorites.

Hamotzi

The Hamotzi bread was light and fluffy. There was a lot of it!

Comprising of Kubaneh bread, vegan yogurt, green gold, tomato foam, olives, Anaheim Pepper, this bead hit the spot.

1 Perfect Falafel

A tasty falafel sitting atop of the israeli salad and tahi-amba. The flavors and zaata were new to me and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Childhood Memories

What a great name for a dish! This was a nice medley of chicken satay and a medley of grilled lettuce, dudu salad, caramelized shallots, grilled asparagus and tahini. The waiter said this was his favorite dish and I'd have to agree, I enjoyed it of all the dishses.

What Rolls Royce Would Taste Like

I have to admit I chuckle at the names of all the dishes on the menu.  This dish comprises of Short Ribs, Lachuch, Korean Tahini, Herbal glaze, pickled red onion, pistachio crumble. I had high hopes for this dish, but for some reason it was my least favorite of all the dishes of the meal. Not sure if it was cause I was already beyond full at this point or if it was a "new" dish that was still not hitting on all cylinders. The cut felt fatty at some points and meaty at others. The sauce mixed well in some spots and not in others on the dish. I'd be willing to try this again because it has a lot of ingredients that I normally enjoy.
