I decided to try HerbSaint in New Orleans because I wanted to try a restaurant that could provide with the classic New Orleans flavors. Of course temptation was great and I veered a bit from the script but managed to have the Gumbo which many claim is the best in the city but at the least for me to see what a well done Gumbo was supposed to taste like. What I enjoyed about this palate refining experience was that the triniy (onion, celery, bell pepper) flavor really came out with their lighter, but still tasty, broth.
For other courses, I got the shortrib and the redfish (special of the day).
The restaurant had an interesting clientele of the citiy's power movers and shakers and conversations around me ranged from the daily current events to their current business dealings.
